Zoe was a ladybug for her first Halloween. I bought the costume about 2 years ago, luckily it was the right size :-) She didn't mind the costume, but HATED wearing the hood. Most of the pictures from that afternoon are of her trying to rip off the antennae.
Daddy took her trick-or-treating to a couple of houses in the neighborhood. Mark didn't even have to show her what to do, she reached right into the candy bucket on her own.
Adventures in Babysitting
This past weekend Mark and I went to a wedding...by ourselves. It was the first time we've been out together without Zoe in 6 months. Zoe stayed with her Auntie Jenn, so I knew she was in excellent hands, but I had this irrational fear that Zoe would think we were leaving her forever. In the end, everyone had a great time. (And I only called home to check in once!)
Walking
In other news, Zoe took her first unassisted (wobbly) steps last night. She let go of the couch and took a couple of steps toward me. We were both speechless. We thought we might have a couple of months before she started walking on her own, but I think it's looking more like a couple of weeks.
Sleep Issues
Zoe will be a year old on Friday and she has apparently decided that she's too old for naps. For about the past 3 weeks, I've been lucky to get her to take one nap, let alone the 2 naps that she usually takes. Anyone else dealing with this??

What a precious little ladybug! Michelle was a ladybug too. Very fitting, I think.
How exciting that Zoe is starting to walk. The adventures of Danger Girl are just beginning.

How exciting about Zoe's first steps! She will be up and going at full speed in no time. Thankfully, no nap issue here! Feel free to give her some alone time in her crib though regardless of whether or not she sleeps so that Mommy can keep her sanity :) Just buy some earplugs ;)

Grace went through a "I'm too cool to nap" phase as well. Luckily it didn't last too long. I would just keep her up through her usual morning nap time, and then she would go down in the afternoon for just one nap. The one nap a day lasted for a few weeks but now she is back to two naps a day. I think with all her walking she is needing the rest! Also, since Zoe is hitting some major milestones right now it may be hard for her to unwind and just let herself nap when she knows there's all kind of adventures for Danger Girl just beyond her crib! Hopefully she will self adjust soon. Good luck! She is so cute and looks like she is just loving life :-)
