Happy New Year

Valentine's Day
Zoe got a few Valentine's Day goodies in the mail, including a gigantic card that plays music when opened. It made for a pretty funny morning.

Chinese New Year
Each year our adoption agency throws a huge Chinese New Year party. Zoe was pretty excited about getting dressed up and she was fairly impressed with big decorated ballroom, but her absolute favorite part of the whole experience was getting her nails painted for the first time. How is it that girls automatically know how to hold their hands when their nails are wet? It must be in the DNA.

"Zoe-isms"
As any parent knows, it's sometimes difficult to reason with a toddler. However, I find it hysterical when a toddler tries to reason with an adult. I was cooking dinner one night and Zoe asked me to pick her up. I told her I needed my hands free to cook and she would have to wait a minute. That excuse didn't fly. So Zoe said. "Mama, pick up Zoe. Then one hand full and one hand empty. See?"
