Zoe turned 17 months old today and made two very important toddler discoveries this week: bubbles and ketchup.
Ketchup: The other food group
We went to lunch at a local diner Sunday. Zoe saw daddy use ketchup and wanted some on her plate too. So we gave her a little squirt...and a ketchup addict was born. She dipped everything in it-- including mandarin oranges (eeew!) and ate with gusto. But by the end of the meal, she was dipping her fries, sucking off the ketchup, then insisting that daddy eat the half-masticated fries (double-eeew!).
That evening I gave her a little ketchup with dinner. Do you know what she ate? 6 forks-full of ketchup. I think we've created a monster.
Bubbles
That afternoon, I was blowing bubbles for Zoe outside, which entertained her for all of 60 seconds. Then she decided that SHE could blow the bubbles just as well, if not better, than mommy or daddy. An entire bottle of spilled bubble solution later...bubble time was over.
Later that day, Zoe had bubbles in her (much needed) bath. Before long, she had a bubble hat and a goatee.
