Miss Zoe is 9 months old today. It's hard to believe that she's only been with us for about 10 weeks because she has changed so much in such a short time.

Updates & Milestones
- Zoe is rolling easily, especially during diaper changes. (Because a midnight diaper change with origami snapping PJs isn't challenging enough...)
- She is pulling herself up into a standing position.
- She is army-crawling backwards and in a circle, but doesn't get any forward motion yet unless she can push off of something.
- She will put absolutely everything she picks up into her mouth-- except for food. It's so frustrating to watch her pick up a Cheerio...wave it around...then throw it to the dog.
- She shakes her head "no" in response to pretty much everything. I suspect she's practicing for her toddler and teenage years.
- She prefers my (clean) shirt to a tissue. I end every day scraping a crusty medley of dried baby snot and drool off the left shoulder of whatever shirt I'm wearing. That's OK because I hear mucus is the new black. Very sexy.
- She has enough hair now to support the all important hair accessories.
Zoe isn't the only one learning new things. The past 10 weeks have been a huge learning experience for daddy and mommy too.
What daddy has learned:
- Put a shirt on before going to rock a crying a baby in the middle of the night. (Nothing says "I love You" like ripping out a fist-full of chest hair.)
- Zone defense techniques for getting more of the spoon full of food into the baby's mouth than on her hands, face, head, highchair, dog (don't ask), etc.
- Check to make sure there's a trash bag in the diaper pail before it's filled with a week's worth of poopy diapers.
- Bounce a baby too soon after a bottle and you are guaranteed to see the formula again.
- Can now blame gas on dog AND baby. Score.
What mommy has learned:
- Be sure you have at least one free at all times to regain your dignity after baby pulls your shirt down in front of Home Depot check-out clerk.
- Don't open a diaper mid-poop. Especially not on a plane or moving bus.
- Securely fasten the lid before allowing the baby to play with the Cheerio container or you will quickly learn the cereal capacity of both dog and vacuum.
- You really only need about 90 seconds to shower.
